Chain pinion and wheel maintenance
 
Visual inspection:

 
1 - Check That accurately correspond to sizes of wheels dented Those of chain.
 
2 - Verify profile of teeth: A - tip must be regular, not oriented in the running direction (an Indication That, When used, chain is stretched too tightly) B-sides must be symmetric.
 
3 - Verify outer sides of chain and pinion wheel in correspondence with teeth: a more accentuated wear on one side Is An Indication That dented wheel alignment is incorrect (defect is more evident on chain wheel pinion Than it is on).

Controlling alignment:
